Pumpkin Patch

We ventured out to the Linder Farms Pumpkin Patch last night with the Connelly's. The way the week had started, I was worried we were going to be cold kids. But the day ended up being beautiful and we had great "patch" weather. Linder Farms keeps kicking it up a notch every year. So this year the kids enjoyed the hay bail maze, the tractor train ride and new this year...the swing-go-round. They also had a petting zoo and delicious mini donuts that the Connelly's shared.

It is always difficult picking out that perfect pumpkin. But Sulli managed to find 2 great ones for our family. We went back to the ConCon's for some delicious chili and cornbread and some fun time with friends. I am loving this tradition. We are only going on two years but I hope that we can continue this adventure for many years to come. What do you say Connelly's???

Lake Powell 2009

What a wonderful trip...yet again. We just returned from a week on a houseboat on Lake Powell. We went down with my parents and their close friends the Wagners. It was another amazing trip. The weather was cooler this year so we didn't spend as much time in the water as previous years. But it was still a great trip. The boys loved all of the adventures. And boy did we have adventures. Sulli discovered a treasure map that lead to buried treasure on one of our beaches, we had an amazing firework display most nights, we played fun games, ate great food, relaxed, explored, took great boat rides, and just had fun. Thanks again Mom and Dad for a wonderful time in paradise. We love you!

Back to School!

Sulli is back to school this year for his second year of preschool. He is going 3 days a week now and loving every minute of it. We took the traditional first day of school picture out front. Such a big kid I have!!! We also had to take down his art wall in the garage to make room for this school year's masterpieces. We saved some of our favorite ones. He is excited to see the wall filled again.

We also had a great visit with our Uncle Joel from New York. He always comes bearing gifts for the kids and this year was no exception. They adore him and we only wish that we got to see him more often. We will take what we can get though.

4 AMAZING YEARS!

my first child turned FOUR on july 19th. i cannot believe that i have a 4 year old! we had a great weekend full of celebrating. we started it off by a backyard birthday party with lots of friends. we surprised sulli by renting a spiderman bounce house. he came down the stairs and saw it outside. his face was priceless! he said "oh my goodness!" as you may have guessed by now, the theme was spiderman so we had a pinata, cake, cookies and goodie bags that went along with the theme. later in the day we took sulli out to dinner at red robin. they sang a happy birthday song to him at the restaurant and he wasn't sure what to think. it was pretty darn cute seeing his cheeks redden and his eyes light up when they presented him with his own sundae. after dinner we went downtown to the twilight criterium. this has become a tradition for us. it typically falls on the day that we celebrate sulli's birthday. he loves it and is a great cheerleader for the cyclists. then on sunday, his actual birthday, we took him to dinner again...just mom, dad and sulli (we met some friends there). we thought it would be a treat to have a "date night" with mom and dad. little did we know that sulli would be quite distraught that we were leaving little brother with mimi and bumpa. he wasn't quite sure why this was happening. all in all it was a great weekend with fun celebrations for my little man. i can't believe i have a snapping, bike riding (sans training wheels), trampoline jumping, God loving little boy. it blows my mind. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SULLIVAN!

Long time no blog!

Wow! Summer has gotten the best of me which I guess is a good thing. I sure haven't been sitting in front of a computer much which means I have greatly neglected updated you all on the happenings around the Wyke household! Well, the month of June was highlighted by Star Mule Days, a trip to Bend with our wonderful friends from small group, a camping trip with the Lindley's to Pine Flats, and some dinner dates here and there with some other friends. All of these events seemed to fly by without me being able to snap a photo. Amazing!!

July has literally started with a bang. We attended the God and Country celebration which was fantastic. The kids loved the music, the presentation of the flag (brought in by a skydiver), the friends, and of course the fireworks. We attended a fun firetruck themed birthday party for Sulli's friend Jack...Ben in a great mood after the party! And we spent the 4th with our small group from church and had fun with a great backyard firework display!

Last weekend we traveled to McCall to visit the V's and had fun playing at the lake and just hanging out! Doesn't Benny just have the best "cheese" face!!! This coming weekend is full of birthday excitement as our big boy turns 4!!! Wow...FOUR! Can't believe it. So there you go...up to speed! Happy summer to you all.

happy birthday boys!

we took the holiday weekend to get away up to the cabin in ketchum. it was a work weekend to open up grandma and grandpa's cabin and do some cleaning up around nana and papa's as well. the boys had a great time running and playing outside. they especially liked getting dirty! we had a great visit on saturday afternoon with grandpa louis and grandma dossie who made the drive up the canyon to check things out. so glad we got to see them and give them hugs. keep grandma in your prayers as she was hospitalized yesterday with severe pneumonia.

my dad (papa) celebrated his 61st birthday on the 16th and evan's birthday was on the 26th. so we had a joint celebration up at the cabin. sulli picked out the theme for the party. it was originally supposed to be a motorcycle party but we had to resort to a plan B when the store didn't carry what we were looking for. he instead went with a tiki hut motif! the chocolate peanut butter cake made another appearance (i froze the other half we didn't get to for this purpose) and was like again by all. the ambience was made complete by candlelight. however, this was not by choice. a lightening strike knocked out our power from 7:30pm on saturday through about 3pm on sunday. it wasn't too big of a deal except that we weren't prepared with water and the food in the fridge was in jeopardy.

the only other major excitement was evan's flat tire on the way up the canyon. he had some work he had to do in town saturday morning so he was by himself. after he arrived back at the cabin, he noticed a very flat back tire. it gave him a chance to get to know his new truck a bit better.

thanks mom and dad for a great weekend. (sorry about the random order of pictures. for some reason i cannot get the pictures to appear when i am in edit mode. instead i get all of those computer codes so i don't know how to move the pics around. you get the idea though!)
