The family travelled to Ketchum to the family cabin a couple of weekends ago with some friends. We had one good night there and were evacuated the next day due to horrible fires raging in the hills. We packed up our belongings and as much of the cowboy collectibles that belong to my parents as possible. Then we headed to Twin Falls to drop off the goods with my parents. At the time that we were evacuated, the fire had burned approx. 6,000 acres. As of the last time I checked last night, it was almost 50,000 acres. The areas that are burning have made almost a complete circle surrounding our cabin. That circle keeps closing in and is cinching in on the cabin. There is a link that you can go to to see pictures of the fire and maps of what is burning. It is http://www.inciweb.org/. The fire to check out is the Castle Rock fire. Please pray for the safety of all those fighting the fires and for the property at stake. My great-grandfather homesteaded up there and the whole area, not just the cabins, means a lot to my family.
